Switching to an Instagram business account for event professionals

If you haven't made the switch, it's time!

Your client is on instagram. There is no doubt about it. Even if they are not directly finding you on the mega social media giant, they are most certainly vetting you there. Bottomline, if you do not have an active instagram account, you are most certainly losing money. Just as important is switching your personal account to a business account to take full advantage of the features.

One of the benefits of a business profile is the ability to add additional contact options. Regular accounts get just one link to their website. With a business account, you can add a phone number, an email address, and even your business’s physical location. These are not mere text fields, either – they’re functional buttons! Clicking the phone number allows people to call you in the moment. The email address, when clicked, pulls up a formatted email. And while a lot of event companies do not have a storefront, a potential client can click on the address takes you right to the map with directions.

With a business account you can advertise on Instagram and even easily promote a post right within the Instagram App. Just tap the Promote button on your profile and follow the prompts. It doesn’t get any easier.

1. Open your current instagram account.

2. Go to your profile and tap your menu key.

3. Tap Settings

4. Tap Account.

5. Tap Switch to Business Profile

We recommend that you connect your Business Profile to a Facebook Page that is associated with your business. This will make it easier to use all of the features available for businesses. At this time, only one Facebook Page can be connected to your business profile.Add details such as your business or profile's category and contact information.
